Essay Contest
Lambda Sigma Omega is holding an Essay Contest from
March 28, 2003 until April 24, 2003.
The contest is open to
NON-MEMBERS ONLY!
The top ten essayists will be awarded with
free membership
into Lambda Sigma Omega, a $50 value. The essayists selected as the best overall will receive an additional prize in the form of a $25 gift certificate to Amazon.com as well as free membership. To enter, you must be an FMU Fort Lauderdale student, who is majoring in either Criminal Justice or Legal Assistance, you must have a clean criminal record, and be in good standing with the school. Essays are to be
at least
500 words long and
no more
than 1000 words long. All essays must be type written in 12 point font, double spaced and meeting all APA & FMU standards. Qualified entries
MUST
be turned in
on or before April 24, 2003
to the President or Vice President. All essays
MUST
have a completed Lambda Sigma Omega application attached to them. Essays not meeting ALL of these standards will be discarded without being judged. To arrange to turn in your entry, you must contact the President by e-mail at the contact information on the 'Contact Us' page. A link to the contact us page can be found on the left hand side of your screen. Blank Lambda Sigma Omega applications can be found on the Criminal Justice bulletin board on the third floor of the school, or by seeing a member. Entries turned in after April 24, 2003 will not be judged. Winners will be notified and announced on April 28, 2003. Essays must be on any one of the following three topics:

Choice Two:
What Unique Benefits Do You Feel You Could Bring To an Organization Like Lambda Sigma Omega?
Choice Three:
A Story About a Specific Non-Fiction Event in Which You Personally Had an Impact on Criminal Justice
